Syncronize reservations with third party systems
IOS Sync® allows you to synchronize reservations between different systems, applications and web sites. You can sent local reservations to a remote third party system, or receive reservations from a remote system and import it into IOS Rentals. You can even synchronize reservations between 2 different IOS Rentals installations. IOS Sync is smart and flexible. No matter how different the 2 systems are, you can synchronize them without having to modify the source code on the remote site. If custom integration code is needed, then this is been applied in IOS Rentals part only.
Response format refers to the way IOS Rentals replies to third party systems but also to the way expects third party systems to reply to its requests. IOS Sync® supports the following response formats: HTTP Status Code, Plain text, IOS XML, IOS JSON, Generic XML and Generic JSON. If an other format is required you can implement it in a CRF file (read below).
Two booking systems can be totally different. They can have different names for the parameters, for the database columns, different date format, different IDs and titles, etc. Custom Response File (CRF) is a file used to customize the integration between 2 systems (if customization is needed). Within this CRF file a developer can write PHP code which converts parameter names and values in order to match the ones of the other system. Is Open Source provides documentation for building such a file and also an example file. Moreover, if you like, you can hire Is Open Source to develop such a file for you.
What type of data is been synchronized?
As of IOS Rentals 3.4, IOS Sync synchronizes reservations, no other data like groups, prices, locations, etc, are supported. Additional data synchronization might be supported in a future version.
Can IOS Sync synchronize IOS Rentals bookings with ANY third party system?
As long as the third party system has an API system available on the internet, we believe Yes! Although we are not aware of all third party systems, we know that IOS Sync has been developed in a way to be very flexible and smart in the way it works. Maybe except if there is something in the third party system that blocks IOS Sync from reaching it. In this case you might need to contact that system administrator for support. So, to be more realistic, the answer is Yes in 95-99% of the cases. If you are unsure that IOS Sync can connect to a third party system contact Is Open Source and provide us the third party API system specifications or documentation.
Do I need to buy IOS Sync?
IOS Rentals has built-in support for IOS Sync, however in order to use IOS Sync you need to buy a license. Each license is for 1 company (within IOS Rentals installation) and it is an one time fee. If in IOS Rentals there are more than 1 rental companies only those that have purchased this extra license can use IOS Sync.
What do I get after buying an IOS Sync license?
After you buy an IOS Sync license you receive an activation key, documentation for developers and a sample Custom Response File (CRF). You use the activation key to enable IOS Sync for your company. You activate IOS Sync from within IOS Rentals control panel for your company.
